Although the overheated real estate market gradually returning to normal, many potential homeowners are still struggling financially. Housing prices rose to record heights in 2021 and early 2022, about 6,000 US homes were sold for at least $100,000 above the asking price. If watching Zillow is stressing you out, the list below may clear things up.

According to Point2Homes.com, these are the most expensive homes currently listed for sale in every US state and Washington, DC. The cheapest listing is in Omaha, Nebraska, where the most expensive house in the state will cost you $3 million. To do this, you have five bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a wine cellar, a bar and a cinema. Considering the cost of some of the properties on this list, this price seems like a steal.

California boasts the most expensive housing in all 50 states. With 16 bedrooms and ocean views, the $225 million Malibu property is as luxurious as its price suggests.
