The agricultural industry is still recovering from the initial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, but local markets have returned to the Midlands filled with local produce, meat, dairy, art and delicacies.

  • Blythewood Farmers Market, located in Doko Meadow Park, is open on Wednesdays from 4 to 7 pm. The tables are filled with baked goods, popcorn, jewelry, honey, skin care products, groceries, meat and other path lines in the park. The market features farmers from Blythewood and nearby towns, live music on stage, food trucks and an Italian ice stand.

  • The hotel is located off Highway 321. Casey Farmers Market open from Monday to Sunday from 10:00 to 18:00. The market is indoors and there is a playground at the back. Customers can use shopping carts or carts and choose from nuts, beans, groceries, cider, meats and more.

  • City of Chapin sponsors Chapin Farmers Market, in the 100th block of Clark Street. The market features live music and fresh local produce. It is open on the first Saturday of every month from 8:30 am to 12:00 pm.

  • South Carolina State Farmers Market located on the Charleston Highway in Western Columbia and is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. There are stalls along several streets that showcase farmers, gardeners, and artisans from across the state. There is also The Market Restaurant. The market is one of three farmers’ markets owned and operated by the state of South Carolina.

  • Located in Vista in Colombia, Vista Marketplace open every Saturday from 9:00 to 13:00. Vista Marketplace also offers a virtual option aimed at making farmers’ markets more accessible to buyers and more convenient for sellers. Customers can browse and buy available products on the market Web site. Suppliers then prepare online orders and deliver them to downtown offices or the physical location of Vista Marketplace.

  • Forest Acres Farmers Market, located on Beltline Boulevard, is open Wednesdays from noon to 6:00 pm. This market is right behind the Richland Pier, under a green and white tent. The market at Forest Acres is a small market that sells pastries, jewelry, carved wood, cheeses, towels, groceries, and more.

  • Irmo Farmers Marketat the Irmo Art Center, open on Tuesday evenings from 17:00 to 20:00. According to his Facebook page, the market offers “live music, fresh food and delicious smells.”

  • The Icehouse Amphitheater, represented by the City of Lexington, houses a farmers’, manufacturers’, and craftsmen’s market in the Icehouse Amphitheater Pavilion. Market at Ice House offers local art, products and more. The market is open on Saturdays from 9:00 to 13:00. The market has live music and food trucks to enjoy while shopping.

  • Farmers, gardeners, bakers and artisans from across Kershaw County gather in Camden for Kershaw County Farmers Market on Saturdays from 9 am to noon. According to its website, the market features a variety of products, including meat, dairy, baked goods, and homemade soaps.
