Three organizations came together to organize an event called Satisfy your hunger. July 6 during the Lionsbridge FC home game at Townbank Stadium (CNU), volunteers will collect non-perishable food and cash donations. All food and money raised will go towards providing food to local residents. During the tournament, Lionsbridge FC will play Christos Baltimore.

“We’ve had a great relationship with the Virginia Peninsula food bank since we first started playing in 2018,” Lionsbridge FC chairman and co-founder Mike West told the portal. WYDaily. “One of the things we’ve learned, and I think some people don’t know, but it makes sense when you start thinking about it, is how big the need is during the summer for donations for food and money. donations to the Penisula Food Bank because so many kids don’t go to school during the summer.”

Each fan who brings five non-perishable foods or donates $10 to the food bank the night before the match will receive a free ticket to Lionsbridge FC’s next home game on 9 July. They will also receive a $5 discount coupon for their next purchase from Food Lion.

“Our goal for the July 6 game is to raise enough food or money to provide 3,000 meals in our community,” West said. “I think it’s an ambitious goal, but I think we can achieve it. So we just encourage all of our fans to try and tell everyone so people know to bring non-perishable food.”

Many children are fed at school, but when the school holidays end in the summer, the level of food security in the region increases. West says the purpose of the event is to help solve this problem.
