Through Anthem, Purdue’s health plan administrator, eligible faculty and staff, and dependents covered by Purdue’s health plan, have access to certain mental health resources. They are:

  • LiveHealth online psychology
  • LiveHealth Online Psychiatry
  • Learn2Live

All three of these resources support the healthy behavior component of the Healthy Boiler program.

LiveHealth Online Psychology and LiveHealth Online Psychiatry provide online access to psychologists and medication management support for common behavioral conditions such as major depressive disorder, anxiety, and bipolar disorder.

LiveHealth’s online psychological and psychiatric services have been well received by the Purdue community and participation continues to grow. Since 2019, Purdue has seen a 250% increase in the use of mental health services through LiveHealth Online (from 193 visits in 2019 to 496 visits in 2021). In addition, the rating of satisfaction with the services provided – an average of 4.7 / 5 – is maintained throughout the entire time.

Another component of Anthem’s mental health services is Learn2Live, formerly known as myStrength. Learn2Live offers a variety of digital behavioral health services based on the principles of CBT. Through Learn2Live, available through the Anthem Portal, Purdue health plan employees have access to:

  • Individual coaching, one on one.
  • Family and friends support team created by each person.
  • Mindfulness tools on the go.
  • Live webinars and on-demand webinars.

Accessible anywhere, anytime, Learn2Live tools can help people identify and address the thoughts and behaviors that affect emotional well-being. Through Learn2Live, people can learn effective ways to manage stress, depression, anxiety, substance use, and sleep problems.

Helping teachers and staff

Helping students

Faculty and staff who work with students or have a student at home can refer students to the following resources for behavioral health help. Note. LiveHealth Online Psychology and LiveHealth Online Psychiatry services are also available to Purdue students who are covered by Purdue Health Plan. Psychiatric visits through LiveHealth Online are 100% covered by Purdue Student Health Plan.
